Rich Wright Productions

Our Story

Rich Wright

I’ve been in the television industry for more than twenty-five years producing, shooting and editing video for broadcast, business and the web. For eighteen years I worked for CT based Visual Concepts as vice president of production where I managed a staff of more than twelve.

In 2009 the recession got the best of Visual Concepts and as the saying goes, when one door closes another door opens.

Rich Wright Productions provides the opportunity to do the work I enjoy . . . helping my clients tell their stories.

My passion for story telling began more than twenty years ago when I was a reporter for the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. I knew I was heading for a career in video production when I found myself gravitating to the feature and human interest stories.

That journey took me from producing stories on wineries and baby chicks, to telling stories for some of the most well-know global companies; Travelers, Aetna, Amoco, AT&T, ING, LEGO, The Stanley Works, The Hartford, United Technologies, Hamilton Sundstrand, Carrier, and many others.

From my experience in production, advertising, public relations and sales, the one constant has always been helping clients tell their stories through video and providing excellent client service.

As a producer, writer and account manager for Rich Wright Productions, I’ve taken my experience to create something that fits better in this economy . . . producing telling stories and providing professional service, at an unbeatable value.

Well, that’s our story . . . what’s yours?

The experience I’ve gained in this industry has been remarkable, from hanging out of helicopters with a camera for Sikorsky, editing national spots for Pilot Pen and shooting and editing hundreds of hours of soccer footage with an Olympic champion soccer coach.

I've also had the honor to work with LEGO, Travelers, ING, United Technologies, Hamilton Sundstrand, Carrier, The Hartford, Spalding, Church & Dwight, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Honeywell, Callaway Golf, Anti-Defamation League, Office Depot, The Stanley Works, Aetna and many others.

A few awards have come my way, but I’m most proud of the Emmy Award I received for a PBS documentary funded by NOAA, “Saving Springer,” the story of an orphaned Orca whale.

I love this industry.  The work is fun, it’s something different every day, and I get the opportunity to learn new things on every project.

For ten years I worked at Visual Concepts as a senior account manager and vice president of sales where every day brought something new from producing videos for national sales meetings, to creating marketing and training programs, to producing national spots.

Prior to Visual Concepts, I worked for more than five years in the Chicago market producing and selling for American Airlines Television Network and Orbis Broadcast Group, at the time, a leader in health and medical programming.

Most recently, I was the senior account manager for Durham Group providing insight and creative solutions to clients across various mediums from print to video.
